1.  User of Shorthorn genetics recognizes added value opportunity of source and age verified cattle and obtains a Source and Age Kit by downloading the files to the left or contacting IMI Global, Inc. at 877-258-4535, USVerified@imiglobal.com.  The Source and Age Kit is completed and mailed or faxed to IMI along with necessary documentation.

2.  After receiving the packet, IMI will do a telephone interview with the Consignor to make the determination if the cattle enrolled meet the program requirements. Upon approval, the Consignor is issued a certificate for each group of cattle that has been approved. This process takes about a week so do not wait until the last minute. The annual audit fee paid to IMI Global is $150 annually. There is no limit on the number of cattle that are approved with this annual fee. However, we encourage you to have all groups evaluated at one time. Once an evaluation is completed, if a producer calls back in for subsequent groups to be approved an additional fee of $30 per evaluation will be assessed by IMI.

3.  After IMI approval, the Consignor requests the necessary number of special “SHORTHORN” USVerified matched pairs (visual tag plus RFID tag). The tags are shipped directly to the Consignor for $3.25 per matched pair.

4.  After the Consignor receives the tags they will be placed in the left ear of the animal. The Consignor will not have to enter the tag numbers into a database as they have been pre-entered. They will not be required to have a wand or reader to scan the numbers.

5.  At this point the cattle can be sold, co-mingled or moved to any QSA or PVP approved program.

6.  Age verfication on animals can be checked by going to USVerified.com and entering EID numbers.

7.  After submitting proper documentation and Source and Age Kit, approval is generally done in less that three weeks, receiving your program compliant tags can take up to two weeks so order early.

8.  Some of the evaluations will be conducted on site as part of IMI’s program.
